Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore has officially secured his spot among the top-paid players in the league with a record-breaking contract extension worth $110 million. This four-year deal comes with $82.6 million guaranteed, making Moore the first NFL receiver to have the first decade of his career secured financially.

The 27-year-old athlete had an outstanding season last year, his first with the Bears, where he achieved career-best numbers with 96 receptions, 1,364 receiving yards, and eight touchdowns. Moore’s performance included five games with over 100 receiving yards, highlighted by a remarkable 230-yard, three-touchdown game against Washington in Week 5.

Having previously played for the Carolina Panthers for five seasons before joining Chicago in 2022, Moore has proven himself as a reliable and productive receiver. Throughout his 97-game career, he has caught 460 passes out of 752 targets, accumulating 6,565 yards and 29 touchdowns with an average of 14.3 yards per reception. Notably, Moore has exceeded 1,100 receiving yards in four of the last five seasons.

With this significant contract extension, Moore joins a list of wide receivers who have secured lucrative deals this offseason, including Justin Jefferson, Amon-Ra. St Brown, DeVonta Smith, A.J. Brown, Jaylen Waddle, Nico Collins, Michael Pittman Jr., Jerry Jeudy, and Mike Evans, among others. Meanwhile, players like Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, CeeDee Lamb, Brandon Aiyuk, and Amari Cooper are still in negotiations for new contracts.

As part of an overhauled Bears offense, Moore will be playing alongside Keenan Allen and rookie Rome Odunze, under the leadership of rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, the top overall pick in the 2023 draft. This new-look offense is poised to make waves in the upcoming season with Moore as a key playmaker in the lineup.
