The Florida Panthers, like, totally crushed it in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Final against the Carolina Hurricanes. The Panthers were tied 1-1 going into the third period but then went on a scoring spree, netting five goals to secure a 6-2 victory. Four different players scored for the Panthers, including Jesper Boqvist just 89 seconds into the third period. Panthers defenseman Niko Mikkola and forward Aleksander Barkov each scored twice in the game, with Mikkola also scoring the first goal of the game and extending his point streak to three games.
Unfortunately, the Panthers were without star winger Sam Reinhart, who was out with a knee injury. But that didn’t stop them from putting on a show on the ice. On the other side of the bracket, the Edmonton Oilers had a tough loss in Game 1 of the Western Conference Final against the Dallas Stars. Despite initially holding a 3-1 lead, the Oilers let the Stars come back with some power play goals, leading to an intense brawl after the final buzzer. Emotions were running high, but the Oilers managed to regroup for Game 2.
Oilers’ goalie Stuart Skinner was the hero of Game 2, making 25 saves and recording his third shutout of the season after allowing five goals in the previous game. The Oilers were able to even the series at 1-1, showing their resilience and determination in the playoffs. With both teams eyeing a spot in the Stanley Cup Final, the competition is heating up.
