The New England Revolution made a significant move by acquiring defender Tim Parker from St. Louis City in exchange for fellow defender Henry Kessler. Along with Parker, the Revolution also received $600,000 in general allocation money for the 2025 season. Parker, who is 31 years old, brings a wealth of experience to the club, having made 21 appearances for St. Louis City in the 2024 season. He has scored six goals and provided four assists in his 267 career appearances for various teams.
Revs sporting director Curt Onalfo expressed his excitement about adding Parker to the team, highlighting his performance as an MLS Best XI and All-Star selection in the previous season. On the other hand, Kessler, who is 26 years old, had been with New England for five seasons, making 98 appearances and scoring four goals. He also has two caps for the U.S. men’s national team.
St. Louis City’s sporting director, Lutz Pfannenstiel, praised Kessler for his quality as a center back and his experience with the national team since being drafted in 2020. He believes Kessler’s aggressive defending and vision on the ball will be valuable additions to their defense.
The New England Revolution currently sits at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with a record of 7-14-2 and 23 points, while St. Louis City is second to last in the Western Conference with a record of 4-10-11 and 23 points. The acquisition of Tim Parker is seen as a strategic move by the Revolution to strengthen their roster and improve their position in the standings. With Parker’s experience and Kessler’s potential, both teams are looking to make an impact in the upcoming matches and turn their seasons around.
