A statue of Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gigi, was revealed in a private event at the Crypto.com Arena. This statue, located near the Los Angeles Kings’ monument, will be open for public viewing starting tomorrow.
This statue is the second of three planned monuments to honor Kobe Bryant, who tragically passed away in a helicopter crash in 2020. The first statue, unveiled earlier this year, commemorates Bryant’s incredible 81-point game against the Toronto Raptors.
The date of the unveiling, 8/2/24, holds special significance as it mirrors the numerology of the February ceremony (2/8/24), representing Bryant’s jersey numbers (8 and 24) and Gigi’s number 2. This adds a meaningful touch to the tribute.
Byron Scott, a Lakers legend, shared his thoughts on Kobe Bryant’s legacy, highlighting the impact he had both on and off the court. Kobe’s influence on the game of basketball and the community continues to be felt, making this statue a fitting tribute to his memory.
