Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has reached a significant milestone in his career, becoming the 10th player in NHL history to achieve 1,600 regular-season points. This achievement came during a game against the Buffalo Sabres, where Crosby assisted Bryan Rust’s power-play goal in the first period.
At 37 years old, Crosby is the first player to reach this milestone since Jaromir Jagr in 2011. It took Crosby 1,277 games to reach 1,600 points, making him one of the fastest players to accomplish this feat. Additionally, Crosby is closing in on another milestone, as he is only eight goals away from reaching 600 in his career.
Currently, Crosby is also 41 points short of tying Hall of Famer Joe Sakic for ninth place in NHL history. This further solidifies his place among the greats of the game. Crosby’s consistency and skill have made him a standout player throughout his career, and this latest achievement only adds to his impressive legacy in the NHL.
