Former MVP Ronald Acuña Jr. is gonna make his grand return for the Atlanta Braves on Friday night, folks! The Braves spilled the beans after they lost to Washington on Thursday night that Acuña is all set to hit the field again after nursing a left knee injury that kept him out for nearly a year. The big comeback is happening when Atlanta kicks off a three-game series at home against the San Diego Padres.

Acuña busted his left knee’s ACL last May 26 and had surgery on June 6. After playing six games in the minors on a rehab assignment, he went 6-for-15 with two homers, and now he’s itching to get back in the majors. Last season, Acuña only played 49 games, where he batted .250 with four homers, 15 RBIs, 16 stolen bases, and a .716 OPS. But hold on to your hats, because in 2023, he was the NL MVP winner in a unanimous decision! He had a killer season hitting .336 with 41 home runs, 106 RBIs, and a league-leading 1.012 OPS. Let’s not forget that he also swiped 73 bases that season, making him the only player to hit at least 40 homers and steal 70 bases in the same season.

The 27-year-old Acuña has a solid record with 165 homers and 195 stolen bases in 722 career games. So, fans, get ready for some thrilling action on Friday night as Acuña steps back onto the field after his long hiatus.
