The Atlanta Falcons might have just struck gold in the undrafted free agency pool. According to recent comments from Falcons head honcho Raheem Morris, they’re pretty stoked about their latest defensive back addition. The potential gem in question? Cobee Bryant. What a name, what a game. Bryant, a standout player at Kansas for four years, snagged three first-team All-Big 12 honors during his college career. Some folks thought he might even get picked as high as the fifth round in the draft, so it was a bit of a shocker when he went undrafted. But hey, the Falcons were quick to scoop him up as an UDFA.

“The number of dudes he’s gone up against and the guys he’s managed to hold his own against on tape is pretty exciting,” Morris shared. “We lucked out being able to bring him in for a 30 visit, chat with him, vibe with him, and really see some genuine interest and potential to grow.” The Falcons weren’t about to let anyone else snatch up Bryant. “I knew what he could bring to the table. I knew his capabilities,” Morris explained. “Whoever we were up against [for his signature] didn’t stand a chance.” With 13 interceptions under his belt from his college days, Bryant looks like a promising addition for the Falcons. Given that Atlanta only had five draft picks, grabbing a potential roster piece through undrafted free agency was a game-changer.

Atlanta is well aware that A.J. Terrell has one cornerback spot locked down, but beyond that, there’s room for others to shine. Bryant seems poised to take advantage of that opportunity. Not really sure why this matters, but the Falcons were smart to snag him before anyone else did. I mean, who doesn’t want a player with a name like Cobee Bryant on their team? It’s a win-win situation for everyone involved. So, let’s see how Bryant’s skills translate to the big leagues and if he can make a name for himself in the NFL. Exciting times ahead for the Falcons and their newest defensive back prospect.
