Both teams are coming off losses in their previous games and will be looking to bounce back with a win. The Citadel Bulldogs suffered a 76-61 defeat against Charleston in their last game, marking their fifth consecutive loss to the Cougars. Keynan Davis had a strong performance for the Bulldogs, scoring 17 points on 6 for 9 shooting with two steals. On the other hand, Paxton Davidson struggled from beyond the arc, going 0-5.
On the other hand, St. Andrews had a rough start to their season with a 108-54 loss to App. State. The Knights have now lost five games in a row dating back to last season and will be eager to turn things around against The Citadel. St. Andrews had difficulty working together as a team, finishing the game with only five assists compared to App. State’s 23 assists.
In their previous matchup in December 2021, The Citadel dominated St. Andrews with a 102-62 victory. The Bulldogs will be looking to replicate that success, but St. Andrews will be aiming to come up with a better game plan this time around.
The Citadel currently holds a record of 3-3, while St. Andrews is sitting at 0-1 after their season opener loss. It will be interesting to see which team can secure the win and improve their record.
