The Tennessee Titans have made a decision to start backup quarterback Mason Rudolph instead of Will Levis in their upcoming game against the Buffalo Bills due to Levis’ right shoulder injury. Levis sustained a Grade 2 AC sprain during the Week 4 game against the Miami Dolphins and could be out for four to five weeks.

Although Levis was able to play in Week 6 against the Indianapolis Colts after the bye week, he admitted that the injury affected some of his throws, one of which resulted in an interception. Despite being limited in practice earlier in the week, Levis was upgraded to a full participant on Thursday. However, he remained questionable for the game after being limited in Friday’s practice.

On the other hand, Mason Rudolph, a seasoned seven-year veteran, stepped in for Levis during the Dolphins game and helped secure the Titans’ only win of the season so far with 85 passing yards. This victory marked the first time the team scored over 30 points since January 2022.

In addition to the quarterback situation, the Titans also made roster moves by placing wide receiver Treylon Burks on injured reserve and promoting defensive lineman Abdullah Anderson from the practice squad to the active roster.

The decision to start Rudolph over Levis against the Bills is a strategic move by the Titans to ensure they have a reliable and experienced quarterback leading the team in Levis’ absence. With Rudolph at the helm, the Titans will look to build on their recent success and secure another victory on the road against a tough Buffalo Bills team.
