The first round of the 2025 NFL Draft is done and dusted, but look who’s still sitting pretty without a team – Colorado’s own Shedeur Sanders. This dude was like the talk of the town leading up to the draft, and now that he’s slipped out of the first round, everyone’s losing their minds.
Sanders, the guy who threw for over 4,000 yards, 37 touchdowns, and just 10 interceptions last season, was basically a Heisman hopeful until things took a turn for the worse. I mean, people were saying he could be the first pick of the draft, but nah, reality hit harder than a linebacker.
So, picture this – Sanders all set up in his home in Texas, waiting for that call that never came. Two other quarterbacks got picked in the first round, but not our man Shedeur. And as the night dragged on, the Twitterverse exploded with hot takes from ex-NFL players and media personalities.
Speaking of which, RGIII and Dez Bryant, two NFL big shots, had some words of wisdom for Sanders. RGIII thought the criticism was unfair, and Bryant told Shedeur to use this as fuel for his fire. Then there was Emmanuel Acho, who knows a thing or two about draft day stress, chiming in with some support too.
Even Shedeur’s brother, Deion Sanders Jr., had something to say. Short and sweet, but you could feel the family love there. And let’s not forget about the folks betting on the draft – Sanders was a top pick until he wasn’t, and that cost him some serious cash.
But hey, this isn’t the first time a quarterback has had to sweat it out on draft day. Just ask Aaron Rodgers or Lamar Jackson. Maybe this snub will light a fire under Sanders, and he’ll prove all those doubters wrong. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
