Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw is gearing up to start his first game of the season on Thursday against the Giants. The team’s manager, Dave Roberts, confirmed this news after a close 7-6 victory over Boston on Saturday night.

Kershaw, who is 36 years old and has won the NL Cy Young Award three times, underwent shoulder surgery last November. He recently signed a one-year contract with a possible extension until 2025.

In a recent rehab start for Triple-A Oklahoma City, Kershaw pitched four innings, allowing three runs on six hits with two strikeouts and no walks. This outing followed a three-inning appearance for Class A Rancho Cucamonga on June 19, during which he experienced some lingering soreness that required a week of rest.

Joining Kershaw in the rotation will be Tyler Glasnow, a right-handed pitcher who is set to start on Wednesday against San Francisco. Glasnow had been sidelined for a couple of weeks due to back tightness.

It’s an exciting time for Dodgers fans as they anticipate the return of these two key players to the pitching lineup. The team will be looking to build momentum and secure a win in the upcoming series against the Giants.
