Connor Williams, a veteran interior offensive lineman who has played for the Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins, is currently in talks with multiple teams as he looks to join a new team for the upcoming 2024 NFL season. Despite suffering a season-ending ACL injury in 2023, Williams is expected to be ready to play by Week 1.

Williams, the 50th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, has a solid track record of performance. He started 10 games for the Cowboys at left guard in 2018, contributing to the team’s success in reaching the playoffs and Ezekiel Elliott’s rushing title. After a brief injury setback in 2019, Williams returned to play in all 16 regular-season games for the Cowboys in 2020. He then signed a two-year deal with the Dolphins in 2022 and started in all 26 games during his time with the team.

Given Williams’ experience and expected return to full health, it is no surprise that multiple teams are interested in signing him. Some potential landing spots for the 27-year-old lineman include the Eagles, Jets, Chargers, Giants, and Bears.

The Eagles could benefit from adding Williams, especially after the retirement of center Jason Kelce. Williams could bring veteran leadership and competition to the Eagles’ offensive line. The Jets, on the other hand, are looking to protect their veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers and could use Williams’ expertise to bolster their line, especially with injuries to their current interior linemen.

The Chargers, known for their strong offensive line, could still consider adding Williams due to head coach Jim Harbaugh’s appreciation for quality linemen. Williams’ experience in blocking for top quarterbacks like Dak Prescott and Tua Tagovailoa could be valuable in protecting Justin Herbert. The Giants, who struggled with pass protection last season, could greatly benefit from Williams’ skills in minimizing sacks allowed.

Similarly, the Bears are focused on keeping their top draft pick, Caleb Williams, healthy and adding a player like Connor Williams could provide depth and versatility to their offensive line. Overall, Williams’ proven track record and versatility make him an attractive option for multiple NFL teams as they prepare for the upcoming season.
