Arizona Cardinals’ offensive tackle Paris Johnson Jr. is gearing up for his second season in the NFL with big aspirations. During an interview on NFL Network’s “The Insiders,” Johnson expressed his desire to become the best tackle in the game, setting high expectations for himself and the team.
Selected by the Cardinals in the 2023 NFL Draft after trading down from No. 3 and back up to No. 6, Johnson had a solid rookie season. He started in all 17 games as the team’s right tackle, although he faced some challenges with eight sacks allowed and 12 penalties called against him.
The Cardinals are looking to improve after a tough 4-13 season, and they made moves to strengthen their offensive line. Adding former Cincinnati Bengals tackle Jonah Williams and center Evan Brown in free agency, along with drafting Illinois tackle Isaiah Adams, shows the team’s commitment to protecting their quarterback and improving their offense.
Head coach Jonathan Gannon announced that Johnson will be moving to the left tackle position, while Williams will take over the right tackle spot. This shift will give Johnson the opportunity to showcase his skills on the left side after playing left tackle at Ohio State in 2022.
The Cardinals also welcomed Johnson’s former Ohio State teammate, wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., as the No. 4 pick in the 2024 draft. With quarterback Kyler Murray returning from a torn ACL, the team is hopeful for a better season ahead.
As Johnson continues to strive for greatness on the field, his determination and work ethic will be key factors in achieving his goal of becoming the best tackle in the NFL. Fans can look forward to watching his progress and contributions to the Cardinals’ success in the upcoming season.
