Day 3 of the Olympic Games in Paris is set to be an exciting one with a number of events featuring top athletes from around the world. Two Canadian athletes, Summer McIntosh and Nathan Zsombor-Murray, will be looking to secure gold for their country.

Summer McIntosh, who won silver in the 400-metre freestyle on the opening day of the games, will be competing in the 400-m individual medley. She previously set the world record in this event earlier this year at the Canadian swim trials. McIntosh’s final is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Eastern time.

Divers Nathan Zsombor-Murray and Rylan Wiens will be competing in the men’s 10-metre synchro event final at 5 a.m. Eastern time. The duo made history by becoming the first Canadians to win a medal in this event at the world championships in 2022, securing a bronze. They also have silver medals from the Commonwealth Games and Pan American Games.

Judo fans will be eager to watch Christa Deguchi in action. She will be competing in the women’s 57-kg event, starting with her first fight at 5:12 a.m. Eastern time. Deguchi secured the Olympic spot after a tough battle with Jessica Klimkait, who won bronze at the Tokyo Olympics. Deguchi has an impressive track record, winning silver at this year’s world championships and gold at last year’s worlds.

Tennis enthusiasts will be in for a treat as Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal face off in a highly anticipated second-round match. Djokovic, with 24 Grand Slam titles, will take on Nadal, who holds a record 14 championships on the Roland Garros clay.

The Canadian women’s basketball team will also be in action, facing France at 11:15 a.m. Eastern time. After a strong performance at the 2022 World Cup, where they finished fourth, the team barely qualified for the Olympics and will be looking to showcase their skills on the court.

In addition to these exciting events, the day’s schedule is packed with a variety of sports, including archery, gymnastics, badminton, beach volleyball, boxing, canoe slalom, diving, mountain biking, equestrian events, fencing, field hockey, handball, judo, rowing, rugby, sailing, shooting, skateboarding, surfing, swimming, table tennis, tennis, volleyball, and water polo.
