The event kicked off with teams battling it out on their home turf, with OpTic Texas securing a spot in the second round of the winners’ bracket. The championship weekend marks the culmination of the CDL season, with teams competing for a total prize pool of $2.5 million.

In Thursday’s matches, OpTic Texas emerged victorious by winning Rio Hardpoint 250-208, Highrise Search & Destroy 6-4, and Karachi Control 3-1 against the LA Guerrillas. On the other side of the bracket, the LA Thieves advanced by defeating the Toronto Ultra in a close matchup. The Thieves secured a spot in the next round by winning three out of four maps against the Ultra.

The Atlanta FaZe also had a strong showing, winning 3-1 against the Miami Heretics. The FaZe claimed victory in Vista Hardpoint 250-222 and Invasion Control 3-2, ultimately securing a spot in the next round. The New York Subliners and Seattle Surge had a tight match, with the Subliners coming out on top with a 3-2 win.

Friday’s matches will feature the Atlanta FaZe facing off against the New York Subliners, while the LA Thieves will take on OpTic Texas in the winners’ bracket. Additionally, there will be elimination matches between the Miami Heretics and Seattle Surge, as well as the Toronto Ultra and LA Guerrillas.
