Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels recently shared his personal ranking of the top five NFL quarterbacks of all time. According to Daniels, Tom Brady holds the number one spot, followed by Joe Montana at number two, Patrick Mahomes at number three, Peyton Manning at number four, and Michael Vick rounding out the top five.

In addition to his all-time rankings, Daniels also compared himself to Lamar Jackson, noting their similar playing styles as dual-threat quarterbacks. Both Daniels and Jackson were Heisman Trophy winners in college, showcasing their dominance on the field.

During his senior year at LSU, Daniels put up impressive numbers, completing over 72 percent of his passes for 3,812 yards and rushing for an additional 1,134 yards. With 40 touchdown passes and only four interceptions, Daniels proved to be a dynamic playmaker both in the air and on the ground.

Washington selected Daniels as the second overall pick in the 2024 draft, banking on his potential to make a significant impact in the NFL. While his ranking of retired legends like Brady, Montana, and Manning may not be surprising, his inclusion of Vick in the top five shows appreciation for the former quarterback’s groundbreaking style of play.

Despite Vick’s relatively low number of Pro Bowl appearances, his impact on the game as one of the early dual-threat quarterbacks cannot be denied. In 2006, Vick made history by becoming the first quarterback to surpass 1,000 rushing yards in a single season, showcasing his unique skill set.

As Daniels transitions to the NFL, he will aim to contribute to the Commanders’ success on the field and help improve upon their 4-13 record from the previous season. With his combination of passing prowess and running ability, Daniels has the potential to leave his mark on the league and continue the legacy of great quarterbacks in NFL history.
