The field for the men’s golf competition at the 2024 Summer Olympics has been finalized, with 60 players set to compete from August 1-4 at Le Golf National in Guyancourt. The top 15 players in the Official World Golf Ranking were eligible, with countries allowed a maximum of four participants. The remaining spots were filled based on the IGF ranking list.
American Xander Schauffele, who won a gold medal at the previous Olympics, will return to defend his title. He will be joined by Scottie Scheffler, Wyndham Clark, and Collin Morikawa to represent Team USA. USA Golf executive director Andy Levinson expressed confidence in the team’s abilities, noting the success of American golfers in previous Olympic Games.
Although Patrick Cantlay rose to eighth in the world rankings after a strong performance at the U.S. Open, he narrowly missed out on a spot in the Olympic team. Bryson DeChambeau, who won his second U.S. Open title, finished as the sixth-highest-ranked American. Canada’s Corey Conners moved up in the rankings following a good showing at Pinehurst.
The field for the Olympic men’s golf competition includes top players from around the world. Countries like Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Spain, Japan, Great Britain, France, Austria, Australia, South Korea, Canada, South Africa, Germany, Denmark, Belgium, Argentina, New Zealand, Poland, Chile, Finland, Taiwan, Netherlands, China, Colombia, Italy, India, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Thailand, Malaysia, and Paraguay will be represented.
