Matt Coronato was the star of the show as the Calgary Flames secured a 3-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks. Coronato’s two goals, combined with a solid performance from goalie Dustin Wolf, led the Flames to their fourth consecutive win of the season, matching the best start in franchise history.
In addition to Coronato’s heroics, Andrei Kuzmenko also found the back of the net for Calgary with his first goal of the season on the power play. The Flames’ fourth line once again proved to be a surprising source of offense, with Justin Kirkland and Ryan Lomberg making significant contributions.
Despite the Blackhawks’ efforts to break the 1-1 tie in the second period, they were unable to solve Wolf, who made a number of key saves to preserve the lead for the Flames. Nick Foligno managed to score Chicago’s lone goal, but it was not enough to overcome Calgary’s strong performance.
With the win, the Flames improved to 4-0 for the season and are off to an impressive start. Connor Zary and Rasmus Andersson continue to be standout players for Calgary, contributing points in all four games so far.
Looking ahead, the Blackhawks will host the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night, while the Flames will visit the Seattle Kraken on Saturday. It will be interesting to see if Calgary can maintain their winning streak and continue their early season success in the upcoming games.
